There are many different questions that we have been asked, and this list only covers a few of them. Don't hesitate to ask something that isn't listed. As my high school chemistry teacher said, 'There are no dumb questions!'.

What do I do first?
If you would like to do a slideshow,  we can mail you a packet, which includes tips to selecting your photos, removable labels for the back of your photos, and a project information sheet to help you with the details. Once your photos and information sheet are ready, we setup a meeting to submit photos. At that time, we determine when the project will be completed.

If you want to submit video tapes to be converted, call us to setup a time to submit the tapes.
Where are you located?
We work out of our home on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but work with customers throughout the United States.
What if I don't live in Iowa and I want a video created?
If you would like us to create a video for you, we can do many things by phone or email. In regards to getting the photos to us, we can use a shipping method that allows us to track the shipment (UPS, FedEx, DHL). I will return your memorabilia to you via UPS Ground at no additional charge to you.
What is a title?
A title is something that would appear onscreen as the video plays. For example, 'The Life and Times of Pat and Betty Smith'. You can also use titles to show who someone is, like 'Great Grandfather Alvin Larson', which would appear on the screen as you watch the video.
What kind of media can you copy/convert to VHS or DVD?
We can do almost anything. 8mm or 16mm film reels, VHS tapes, MiniDV, 8mm tapes, Hi 8 mm tapes. If there is something that we don't have equipment for, we have contacts that can help.
Will this work in my DVD player?
Our DVD's will work in most modern DVD players.  On occasion we have an instance where someone is unable to view a DVD.

If you receive a project and cannot play it on your player, we can try different formats.  We will work together to get your something you can watch.

Video Questions

How long will the video be?
Typically, 100 pictures will take 12-15 minutes, depending on effects, transitions, etc.  Don't forget to include time for the video clips.
There is a song that I would like to hear during the video, but I don't have the CD. Can I still use it?
If you would like us to find the song, there will be a $1.00 charge per song. Typically, we can find most songs through various outlets online. We will do everything we can to find it for you. If there is a song that we cannot locate, we will contact you and we can decide together how to proceed.
Can you use a song I downloaded from the internet?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept songs that have been burned to a recordable CD. We must receive the music from you from a store-bought CD.

Photo Questions

What if I have pictures that I can't remove from an album?
Mark the pictures with a post-it note and number them like the rest of the photos. Ideally, all the pictures (when possible) would be removed from the album. If it is easier for you to leave ALL pictures in the albums, an additional hourly charge could be added to your total. This would be determined at the time you are submitting your memorabilia.
How do I know how many pictures will fit into a specific song?
Most times, each picture will stay onscreen for 6 seconds. Typically, we see 30 photos per song. We can help you in both song selection and also how long your video will be.

Video Greetings

What is a video greeting?
A video greeting is a new way to share your photos and stories with friends and family around the block or around the world.
We use up to 30 photos and up to 30 seconds in video clips to create a short video. You then 'rent' a page on our website, where you can direct your friends and family to view your link. As they are downloading your video to their home computer, then can read a letter from you.
